Hahahh... clearly you have no experience with Apple. Apple doesn't care at all about products like Boxee. Apple is nothing like Microsoft, they have strict standards, fixed hardware and their primary focus is improving their devices. They do not support Boxee and if anything they don't want products like Boxee to run on their hardware and Boxee doesn't help Apple in the slightest. Apple makes money selling DRM'ed media too millions of people on iTunes. Boxee is cool tool for maybe a thousand or so folks that have AppleTV's. Why in the world would Apple want to support Boxee on the AppleTV?

Disappointing. I was so happy to hear I could use the 2.3 update to aTV to use remote speakers using airtunes. Guess I'll just have to wait until you figure out the issues.

I was wondering what exactly the new update did to break Boxee on AppleTV?

Apple TV did a factory restore and now I am at version 1. How can I upgrade to version 2.2 and not 2.3?

Default My Apple TV is useless without Boxee

I hate Apple. WTF, I bought ATV but Steve Job owns it. He doesn't let me use it as I want. Does he has the right to wipe out my device that I paid $229? I hope someone will take a class action against Apple. Please keep their lawyers busy.

Grow up. Your magnificent outlay of $229 does not give you the right to call the shots on future upgrades. Hacks are hacks.... not within the user agreement THAT YOU AGREED TO.

Stop whining.

Even TiVo who is outright friendly with the tivo hackers/modders occasionally borks their users with an update.... it comes with the territory.

version 1.0.b8 of the atvusb patchstick didn't work for me. It creates the wrong partition type. So I used version 1.0.7 and that works.

I followed the manual instructions and all is well.

V 1.08b Won't work for me either, but 7b will. Is anyone working a fix for that? I'm on PPC mac... and wonder if that might be part of the issue.
