boxee weather (weather underground)

Hopefully have it out to y'all by the end of the weekend, barring any craziness. This version of the app is based on the much friendlier weather underground api unlike the old app which did a lot of scraping from the weather channel site to get data. Needless to say the weather channel does not take kindly to that idea and attempting to resolve the issue went no where, so here we are today. Keep following this thread for updates.

The new app should eventually support everything the old one did and probably more since wunderground freely gives out a lot of great info w/ their api.

Planned so far are alerts, current weather, projected forecast, radar, satellite imagery, and webcam video. You'll be able to select from a wider array of imagery in terms of radar/satellite. Whatever is available here I'm going to try and support (us + international, temperature - air quality).

I'm still toying with the idea of being able to define a personal weather station location since you can do that on wunderground, but it will probably come in a followup build as it will need a custom settings panel so you can deviate from the internal location Boxee sets.

Wow, nomad, you're not kidding.
Is there a way to get that into Boxee as an app?
(I'm new to Boxee, but I'm absolutely loving the new beta (except the not-so-great music features))

Well, that is what DPK's weather app will be founded on. Out shortly.

Some updates! I'm sorry it's taken so long to get this thing out the door. I started working on it and decided at one point to try and shove as much as possible into it before initially releasing it. I wasn't happy with just a mediocre display of weather. The app is now going through some testing phases, so stay tuned and check out some teasers below:
