Default Boxee Box starts up (green logo) but no video

I'm having an issue with my gf's parents Boxee Box right now with regards to not outputting any video to the tv. I figured it was the HDMI cable or something but after taking it to my place and putting it my Boxee Box's place (used my cables) it still doesn't output video. I can get the green boxee logo to show up but no video. I'm guessing at this point it's the video card on the Boxee....the bad part is my gf got it on eBay for her parents for Christmas....so right now it's showing a bad experience BB... :-(

Anyone know what to do from here and would Dlink help out with this?

Any info would be great :-)

    Thanks,
    Mike

If you go into Factory Restore mode, do you get video?

    (Has it ever worked?)

Sounds like it's time for an RMA. You could try to see if you can get any video in the recovery menu.

Power off the box. On the physical box itself press and hold down the power button for 6-8 seconds and release. Boxee light should turn kinda orange I believe. See if recovery menu comes up. If it does, do a factory restore. After factory restore upgrade again to latest firmware and see if it fixes your issue.

I tried recovery....no video. How do I get an RMA for it? Seems like hardware issues with boxee box are consistent with either video out issues or not turning on....hopefully it can get replaced =[

You'll need to arrange an RMA directly with D-Link customer support.

Yep, same thing happened to 1 out of 5 of mine. Called them up, and they accepted it without any proof of purchase. Very nice to deal with.

I've been using my boxee box for several years, with only minor crashes and freezes.

Yesterday, the power went out and the boxee stopped working.

The logo lights up green but there is no display, no sound, no startup animation. I tried to do a reset by holding power button 5-10 sec, but there is no display, so no menu. I tried to hold 30 sec, got no display, flashing red/red/red/green logo.

I tried removing power cord and waiting a while before reset.

I tried waiting until yellow icon to plug in hdmi cable.

I tried connecting directly to tv (usually use receiver).

Is there any other ways to attempt a restore if I can't see any display or menu?
