Default Boxee no longer sees Windows PC.

    Hi folks,

I've had my Boxee for 4-5 months now. Everything has been great.

However... Today, suddenly, I am unable to see the SMB network shares on my Windows 7 PC. It's not even seeing the PC itself.

If I go onto my media PC and type \\computername, I see the shares. If I go to the other computer on the network and type \\computername, I see the shares.

The Boxee sees the 2nd PC but not the PC that contains my media. If I browse under uPnP, I can see both PCs but all of my shares are using SMB.

I have rebooted the Boxee twice, the PC twice, and the router once.

I was wondering if perhaps the most recent Windows update screwed something up, but I've gone in and the network/sharing settings seem to be fine. (If the other computer can see the shares, I guess it means they're ok.)

    Any suggestions?

I remember awhile back an update to Microsoft Live Essentials was preventing WDTV live boxes from seeing SMB shares. Not sure it has the same effect on Boxee. Maybe that was part of the updates that ran?

Hmmm, part of the update was something to do with MS Live Essentials.

Any idea how to get around that? If that is indeed the problem.

It appears that this was fixed in a Boxee firmware update so I'm thinking this may not be your problem. I would bet anything it has something to do with something from the MS updates though. Can anybody confirm that the MS Live Essentials 2011 bug was indeed fixed by Boxee?
