Could just be a bad encoded file. Does it play on your PC? Maybe you could run it through something like HandBrake and see if it fixes it up.

I've gotten a few files that were done with a program like MakeMKV where it's mpeg encoded in a MKV rapper but something was off in it and BB wouldn't play it but my laptop could. I encoded it with HandBrake and all was fine after that.

    Might be worth a shot.

it plays fine on the pc, and i'm pretty sure it's not the file cause i tried multiple files with the same video encode and still the same problem.

Looks like it might be a Hi10p encoding (10-bit), BB doesn't support these as far as I am aware... see here.

I may be wrong but I just saw a lot of 10s in that log! lol

BINGO "Bit depth : 10 bits"

Yep, you'll have to re-encode the files to play them on the BB.

thanks for the replies guys. any chance boxee box will fix this in their next firmware? most anime fansub groups encode their videos with this 10bit stuff.

Nope, I believe it is a hardware limitation.
