You probably use passwords on them and not the simplest sharing security mode.

You need to enable iOS streaming in the Network options on the boxee box.

I had the same problem for a while, but it went away on my Win7 shares. SMB shares located on my NAS still doesn't work, though. Those broke with RC1.

The server's name "forums.boxee.tv" does not match the certificate's name "forum.boxee.tv". Oops.
