Maybe a newer nVidea card is in my future? Or should I skip it and get a now older Apple TV that has Boxee on it for $50??

I also have a P4 3.2Ghz machine available but would need ram and a vid card (older pci only).

once i go to window mode, the 2nd boxee process open in the taskbar is removed and boxee runs normaly, but when i go full screen it gets that black screen again.

aperantly the software is running but just behing a black screen.

i.e. Highlights & Condensed match streams.
Iniaddition it would be great to skip to an innings using the number of the remote.
i.e. 5 = top of the fifth. 55 = bottom of the fifth. 9 = top. 99 = bottom etc.
This is especially useful when you have to stop a match during a live feed and want to catch-up on events afterwards.

Rationale is that there are alot of tv shows that are only aired nationally outside of places which sites like imdb.com covers. But then, this information is most often available in wikipedia. Major example in my use case:

So, the request i have, boxee could harvest tv series information from wikipedia and/or other alternative sources.

I have a Cisco Wireless N router i just got 8 months ago. The PC has an ethernet connection to the router in the living room. The Laptop is Connected wirelessly to the router which is right next to it in the TV cabinet.

I tried a DVD of mine, “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Widescreen Edition)”. It keeps the widescreen and allows users to choose the subtitles and audio track. It is really easy to use, and its conversion speed is fast.

I do not have a iPod touch 4 yet, so I sync the output file to my iPhone 4, it is perfect. Beautiful picture and audio and video are sync(most of the software can not do that perfectly).

In conclusion, it has a fast conversion speed and allows you to choose many output settings. I just installed Boxee for the first time on my Windows PC this afternoon. I have a pretty simple setup. I store all my videos on my P drive and all my photos/music on my E drive.

The issue I am having is with my pictures being recognized. When I open up "My Pictures", it just shows my E drive like in the file explorer. I have to navigate all the way to my "Pictures" subfolder. I don't think this is how it's supposed to work. Assuming it works like Music and Video, where it pops up those files immediately. I see the artists for music and cover art for video so those seem to be working fine.

Any advice on what might be going on with the pictures? Discovered Boxee a few days and I can tell it's one of the best computer app I've ever seen, and I think a lot of people here (or all) will agree with me.

I'm having a "problem" here. Nothing too serious but it would be nice if I can fix it myself.

I have the movie "300" with Gerard Butler in my movies Library. So when I point to it, the cover of the movie appers to be loading (like in the attached pic) and after sometime "looking" it just fade away and this movie in particular is without cover. Same happen with "Up! (2009)", the animation from Disney.

Tried a lot of things I found here, nothing work. And it's not a problem with my computer in particular, cuz the same happen on my Macbook. I was using Plex on Mac before discover Boxee, and with Plex the cover was Ok on Mac, but I had problem with other, Boxee is much better. Checked on IMDB if there's missing a cover and it's all ok there. Any idea of how to fix it?

So, if I delete the UserData folder, then setup sound to digital, using,
iec958:card=nvidia,Dev=0 for both audio output and passthrough device.
It all works for a while. But if I go to watch a movie, then switch back to something using flash like comedy central, sound stops working.

Logging out and back in does nothing. If I purge everything and go thru the whole setup again. And watch just flash videos, the sound will continue working, but when I watch a movie. The whole system sound disappears.

System info:
Intel(R) Atom(TM) CPU 330 @ 1.60GHz
2.6.32-24-generic
GCC Version 4.4.3 (x86_64-linux-gnu)
3 gigs of memory

Running Lucid linux.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So I found out if I delete my guisettings from UserData folder, I could make changes happen in the sound settings that worked.
So then, after trying a bunch of different settings, that all eventually failed. I deleted the guisettings again. And touched nothing.
I get sound now, except navigation sounds. The audio settings are analogue and default, so I have no digital. But whatever, I mainly watch comedy central anyway. If I set up a server on the network It will only be able to serve five apple TV's. So, I will have to set up EVEN servers. Not feasible.

If I install Boxee software on the apple TV's will this circumvent the five TV limit?

ROKU player is another cheap option, and the BOXEE BOX in November, but the BOXEE box is too expensive to purchase 35.

If any one has suggestions please post them.

It can be slow, however, and stutters sometimes so I thought I'd trial a proxy server instead, thinking that because it is not encrypted it might be faster. I can view iPlayer fine (using the Boxee app) but when I select a programme to play, I get :

"Cache access denied" then a URL to the BBC site and video I was trying to play - "You are not authorised to access use this cache until you have authenticated yourself".

I think that this is because, unlike a web browser, there is nowhere for a dialogue box to pop up and prompt me for my username and password. I have tried the same proxy details using firefox browser on apple tv and a box pops up asking for my authentication details. I note that the "Setting" page in Boxee that allows the specification of a proxy server address and port number also has boxes for username and password.
