I was so excited to check out the new cbs/hulu and other internet video channels but when i try to play something i get the animated loading image for a few seconds then back to the selection list. HELP PLEASE :(

I renamed by ~/.boxee to ~/.boxee-old and relaunched. this didn't resolve, had the same issue.

it does for hulu.

do you have a good amount of free space on you harddrive?

is it only flash based sites (ie: hulu, cbs, cc, myspace)? what about video podcasts?

if it's also podcasts: what about playing videos from the source? (say downloading them from revision3 directly?)

lastly, can you post up your debug logs?

also now that you said the disk space thing, i think thats my problem, where does it save too? can i change it? my os partition is small. can i hard link the dir to another partition?

boxee doesn't save streamed internet content, it only caches it... i suppose you could symlink your tmp directory, and see if that helps.

as for your debug log, it looks like you're having issues with comedy central... can you tell me is myspacetv works? also, could you try one of the streamed (not flash) videos from video >internet > video podcasts, and tell me if they work?

if not, could you post up THAT debug log, as well?

Hey guys, I have similar issues, however, they seem specific to youtube. I can play MySpace TV and Comedy Central as well as Revision3 and Videos from my Hard Drive just fine. Even RSS-Feeds I added myself work, however the audio/video are not in sync.
When I try to play any video from youtube, it just give me the loading-wheel-thing and goes back to the list-view after a few seconds.

I'm thinking youtube or something changed their API, because I (along with others) have seen this exact issue...

I just checked my free space on my os partition, 8GB free. That has to be plenty. Also, I cannot play Hulu, CBS, Comeny Central... I will try more I have to get off this live cd and test. Something is wrong.

Its working now! I checked for updates and saw another boxee update! I didn't see a post about it but oh well. Now Hulu and the rest work!

However I am unable to control the volume from Boxee while watching most streaming video.

this is a known limitation of flash video in boxee...

Well, I just ran the Update manager and it indeed found a new version of boxee. However, Youtube still doesn't work. When I select a video, I get the screen where I can select play or more info. When I select play and press enter, it shows me the loading-circle and then takes me back to the list after a few second.
Anyone know what's going wrong?

this is a known issue on even the most current build of boxee... i'm sure the boxee team is hard at work on a fix. :)
