I'm having a similar problem to http://forum.boxee.tv/showthread.php?t=459 with my mac mini attached to my TV with a VGA dongle.
Essentially, Boxee shows a blank (black) screen whenever in full screen mode, whether watching a movie or in a menu, etc. In windowed mode it works fine.
The mini's running OS X Leopard and no errors appear in the xbmc.log when opening boxee. Any guesses?
Thanks,
David

+1 I had this same problem with 0.9.2908. I figured I'd have a go again with all the praise/good news as of late. Unfortunately, this is a no go for me still...
Ps, The integration with Hulu is pretty boss! Here's to hoping I can get this resolved and switch to Boxee.

I'm having the exact same issue as dhembree on my mini. I looked endlessly for a setting to change, but I haven't found anything.

Another Mac Mini user here with same issue. I'm connecting my mini to my TV via a DVI->HDMI cable. Plex works fine full screen and is even viewable (though at a low frame rate) when I Share the screen with my MBP. With Boxee, not only is there no output to the TV, there is no output on the Screen Sharing either leading me to believe there is a deeper issue and not simply a problem with my display.
No settings changes affect the issue.
It is not unresponsive, as soon as I press tab it comes right back.

I suppose I should mention I'm using DVI->HDMI hooked up to a Pioeneer PDP. The resolution is 1366x768.

I was having the same problem with a Mac Mini 1.83GHZ C2Duo, 1 GB of Ram and a restart cleared things up. I have a Samsung Tube HDTV connect via DVI-HDMI and I was watching Hulu fullscreen last night for a couple of hours. It was working great.

Did a fresh install and restarted - still get nothing in fullscreen mode.
I think it's worth adding that it is blank even in VNC. If it was hardware related it would be logical that VNC would still work but displaying on a TV or a monitor would not.

Yes, same here. VNC/remote desktop shows a blank screen as well whenever boxee isnt in windowed mode.

I'm not having any problems viewing full screen with my Mini. Connected via DVI > HDMI
Phillips Flatscreen, I'll check the resolution when I get home.

I'm having similar problems. I just started playing with Boxee last night on my Mac Mini. Mine is a 2GHz Core 2 Duo, 1GB, 120GB HD. It is hooked up to a standard TV with a DVI->Composite adapter. The problem is not consistent and usually happens after Boxee crashes (which was a regular occurance last night). Restarting the mini usually got things going again.
I love the concept of Boxee, especially on my old TV and the screen calibration to account for overscan. But the regular crashing and the need to reboot regularly makes it tough to use. I see there is a way to turn on debug logging, which I will try tonight (http://forum.boxee.tv/showthread.php?t=377). Will this help in diagnosing the blank screen as well?
Thanks,
-Tom

When it's working it works great, but if I quit Boxee, then try to restart it: blank screen. I need to reboot the mini often. When Boxee launches on reboot, everything seems to work fine. Until it needs to be rebooted...
When Boxee's working, it's great. It is alpha, so I'm patient...

I got Boxee to work in full screen finally.
I'm not sure how or why this is possible, but it is. If you launch Boxee using either the Apple Remote or with a mouse directly attached to the mini it will work without any problems.
However, if you launch Boxee through a VNC session it will not work in full-screen mode. I don't know if it has to do with the Apple VNC server that is built into Leopard or if it is any VNC server (Vine?).
I am not sure if remote control via VNC is a use-case that is tested; but it is probably a pretty common scenario. I hope this helps someone!
Ps, Hulu integration ROCKS!

Yeah aront is right, the problem seems to be with VNC. Opening with a mouse connected directly to the mini lets Boxee run in fullscreen.
Curiously though, opening via terminal/ssh results in the same problem as opening it with VNC, so this must be a more general problem with boxee not finding the right display, rather than something specifically with VNC.
