View Full Version : Very strange names and info for my shows/movies
October 21st, 2008, 10:57 AM
I started adding some content to my install of Boxee on my Apple TV via some SMB shares. All of my video is currently Apple TV formatted via Handbrake and info filled in via iTunes.
However, when Boxee goes and looks at it, it's assigning the oddest names to everything.
Example... it added several movies as something like "Hoboot" and filled in wierd Indian info for the description.
Why is it doing this? It did this kind of thing for movies and tv shows alike.

This is one of the things it is claiming a lot of my content is. And almost everything it gets info for is some strange name like this...

Is there any way to set Boxee to ignore certain files (like the DRM files purchased from iTunes)? I'm getting some interesting titles for files that don't play anyway, as are others it would seem. The ability to automatically add titles and information is useful 90% of the time of course, but the ability to adjust said information or ignore said file would be nice for the times that the guess is just way too off.
In other respects, it's a nice piece of software. I'm not ready to dump XBMC yet, but it's a great start. A pity hulu and the like are jittery on the ATV right now, but its processor speed being what it is, there's not much that can be done about that. Thanks for a great working alpha!
