i just downloaded my first version of boxee, 0.9.3935 for osx. i'm lying in bed messing around with it on a macbook pro using headphones, and i notice a lot of tones playing in the background as i use the arrow keys to move around the interface. it reminds me of the hearing tests they used to administer in school.

it's late, and there is very little ambient sound, so that is probably making the tones more apparent. the sound changes every time i press a key.

This might actually be a MacBook Pro issue, not a Boxee issue. There's a known problem with the MBPs where something causes a low audio whine. I have this on mine and, when it happens, as soon as I bump the volume up or down it goes away. Very annoying and there's no cure, but there is a possible workaround:

QuietMBP program here (I haven't tried it yet myself)
