I've found a few requests asking specifically for boxee to parse meta data from imported files before requesting new meta data from external sources. While I think that's a very elegant solution, I'd also like to add a request to it.
As a work around for VIDEO_TS folders in Front Row, apple allow users to add their own preview.jpg file to act as a preview in the front row interface. Since boxee frequently downloads bad images, has a hard time finding them, or uses the spanish version of poster images, it sure would be nice if it looked for the preview file before trying to find one that may or may not be correct elsewhere.
While I'm sure I could go in and manually override boxee's selection of preview image, adding the containing folder as the first location to check in the list of download locations seems to be an easier fix.
