Hello,
New to the forums, but have been loving Boxee on my Mac Mini for a couple months now. I have a question about a small problem I'm having, apologies if this *has* been mentioned elsewhere and I just didn't search right for it.
I have 2 standard user accounts on the Mini, one is 'Boxee' and is intended just to run Boxee. The other user account I generally leave logged in, in the background - it is running a VMWare server and a CruiseControl server (this is a system that continually monitors changes to a developer's source code, and automatically builds it to check for errors etc).
With this arrangement, I find that Boxee often seems to freeze. What actually seems to happen is that the screen stops updating, and the app seemingly doesn't process messages (like navigation back or choosing options). If I Apple-tab back to Finder and back to Boxee, any actions I did when frozen all get 'fast played' if you like, and normal service resumes.
I have been testing over the last week, and seem to have found that even when I don't run my VMWare/CruiseControl servers, this will happen. Simply having the other user account logged in, in the background, seems enough to cause this issue while I'm running Boxee under the 'Boxee' user account.
What I'm going to test next is to move my 2 servers into the 'Boxee' user account, and see if that works - ie, everything running under a single user account. If it does, then that's fine - I can live with that.
I just wondered if anyone else was running Boxee on a system that often had a second user account logged in, and whether any similar problems were seen.
Many thanks for any comments/advice.
Regards,
Ash
