We've created a special Boxee feed for highdefnow. highdefnow only features true HD videos and has the best picture quality of any video sharing site.
(see http://www.highdefnow.com/compares/)
To activate the highdefnow plugin login to boxee.tv.
Click "My RSS"
Enter http://www.highdefnow.com/boxee/boxee.xml as the Feed Address.
Select Video when the prompt appears.
Open boxee.
Select Video, Internet and My Feeds.
Then choose highdefnow.
We hope you'll enjoy the stunning HD videos with no geographical restrictions and without the need for a superfast connection - A minimum 2Mbit/s connection is required.
Notes
We've given Boxee users direct access to our files which means you'll get the smoothest playback from Boxee. (HD through Boxee's Flash Player is a complete no-go-zone right now; there was stuttering even on a top-end machine)
If this beta is a success we'll extend it to a full application.
Please report any playback issues
If you want to share any of your own videos on highdefnow please register and upload here (http://www.highdefnow.com/register.php)
Thanks in advance

Very nice. Little buffering because I'm on wireless. But it looks amazing!
Love the clips, just spent an hour watching all the NASA ones :)

I am running the newest version of boxee on Apple TV on a 10Mbps POS TW connection and didn't deal with any buffering. It worked great and had the best picture outta any app or feed I have used. Good job guys.:D

Bufferring a lot on the ATV. At one point lost sound on the Niagara Falls video for a good 50 seconds. Fantastic videos though...

Thanks for your comments. It was good to see that most people didn't have any playback problems with our HD streams.
We were also happy to see that there was some success with the Apple TV; though we had thought initially that the ATV didn't have enough CPU power to cope with our streams.
We've decided to make a full Boxee app. Feel free to make any suggestions for features we could include.

Great videos! Tried it on an ATV and it looked great, but lots of stops for buffering.
I noticed that in a browser we have the choice of 3 different quality levels - which quality are we getting thru this RSS feed?
Would it be possible to create a feed for each quality level so we could try them?

@MikeyTG
You get the high quality stream by default. The buffering you are seeing is most likely owing to the fact that all our playout servers are in Europe. One of the downsides from moving away from Flash was that we now can't set our own playback buffer.
Yes, we can include a choice to play in various formats; hopefully this revision will go out by 5pm UK time. Medium quality should reduce the buffering.

Its really nice. Had to stop to buffer a few times but its smooth. One comment i have is the play menu. The choice of Standard quality, 'HD-Like' is quite vague. So play now is 720p?

Unfortunately Boxee doesn't let us change what the first "play now" button says. We're thinking of a good way to express this.
Yes "Play now" is 720p HD. "Medium Quality" is also 720p but with a lower bitrate. The picture quality is significantly better than SD but not quite HD.

Thanks for adding the quality levels. On my ATV I get no buffering on medium quality but I still get stuttering (frame drops?) - probably because the ATV doesn't have quite the horsepower needed.
Low quality works perfectly and to me still looks pretty good (maybe I need new glasses) :)
