Thinking of buying one to leave the old mini dv tape world behind, since they just sit in a closet, all my movies are on external hds , just wandering if the flip mino hd type of camcorders are worthy enough for important things like events and so on, I have 2 kids 14 and 8 so many more memories to come. I realize they shoot in a lower bitrate but all my dv files once I convert them become small h264 files anyhow and honestly when i compare a dv file 10 times the size next to the h264 version i see no difference at all. Plus I do not have 1200 for a "hd" mini dv, lol, also i really want to shoot now in 16.9 since i have a widescreen tv, 4.3 is dead now isnt it?
