navigation in media is vertical (up/down) instead of horizontal (left/right)
mouse is supported and enabled by default for new installations (for upgrades it can be enabled via Settings > Appearance)
application settings (YouTube, Flickr, Last.fm) are now accessible from the Settings menu
improved SMB support, which also fixes accessing your media via the Apple TV
when using a keyboard, the ESCAPE button always takes you to the previous screen
improved lyrics support
improved subtitles look and feel, support for subtitle switching and fixed media going Speedy Gonzales for a few seconds when subtitle are applied
when working in off-line mode, you can now properly access your local content

known issues


this is prerelease alpha software. 'nuff said.
logoff is temporarily disabled, please exit and restart boxee if you wish to switch profile, sorry
no pause in videos from Comedy Central and MySpaceTV
no forward/reverse for Flash based sites (Hulu, CBS, Comedy Central...)
on some (most) Flash movies - boxee will not identify the end. manual stop is required
some Flash media may play in black-and-white, so go retro, and just playback again to resolve
Flash media volume cannot currently be controlled via boxee. workaround - those nice volume up/down in your tv/receiver remote

Hello,

First of all I have to say that all of you have done a great job, just keep on going :).

I am using the Mac Os X version in a Mac Mini Core Duo.

I just have a problem. In this version I am not able to watch the images, as soon as I try to the screen goes black, I can view all the buttons but the screen remains black.

The other thing that I would like to ask for is a way of translating the literals that appear in the screen, I am using the "spanish version" and some of them are not translated ... is there a file that I could change to translate them ??? .

if you open:

/Applications/Boxee.app/contents/resources/boxee/language/Spanish/strings.xml
in a text editor, and compare it to:

/Applications/Boxee.app/contents/resources/boxee/language/English/strings.xml

you can fill in the missing strings... i'm sure if you posted your results to the forums, the boxee team will add it to a future version.

Can Boxee handle a tvcard and link with Eye Tv or something similar ???

OK! I'm not sure what kind of format you're planning for your wiki, but I'll add what I have and if you move it somewhere else, I'll certainly understand!

EDIT: I just noticed, DUH, there's a section in the forums that has most of what I was looking for. It would still help to have a comprehensive list, I started a wiki page on one but deleted it. I'll try again later!

I'm new to the forum, but I really want to get started with the AppleTV upgrade. How do I get an invite to the alpha? I'm on the list I guess, but "several weeks" is a long time to wait.

Any ideas?
