I've tried and tried without luck.

I'm running Boxee on my Macbook (Mac OS X, 10.5.5). UPnP AV Server is running on my D-Link DNS 323 network attached storage (NAS) device.

I've been able to browse content on the NAS using a different UPnP client.

Boxee can connect to media on the NAS using SMB, however, it does not connect using UPnP. I've tried adding a network source and specifying upnp://192.168.0.198 (the IP address of my NAS). Media source shows as not connected. Boxee cannot connect to it.

What might I be doing wrong? Is anyone actually streaming content using UPnP? What are you using as your UPnP AV server?

hi iBog

going into Settings > Media Sources > Network Sources > Add New Source should scan for both smb and upnp shares.I will open up a bug repoert for this..

That's what I was expecting but it only discovered SMB shares. When I added manually as upnp://x.x.x.x it just fails to connect.

I even tried with a different UPnP server on my network and same thing.

I'm having a similar issue. I'm running PlayOn on a server in my basement to get to my Netflix content from my AppleTV. Getting Boxee to see the upnp server is hit and miss. Sometimes it sees it right away, sometimes, if I wait a while, it pops up. Yet, my other devices in the house (DirecTV HD DVR's) see the server every time.

Also, what is the proper format for adding a upnp source? Simplying adding upnp://192.168.x.y doesn't seem to work.
