My turn to announce a new repository and 2 RSS apps for Swiss TV:

-tsr.ch (http://tsr.ch) (Swiss French TV)
-sf.tv (http://sf.tv) (Swiss German TV)

My repository is available at www.openix.org/simon/boxee/repository (yes, I know, not the shortest address)

Hope you enjoy and feel free to use this thread to comment and report bugs.

Alright guys, I've added one more app to my repository. It essentially gives you access to the huge number of rss video feeds listed on www.miroguide.com

Some are HD, most work, some don't work, not my fault, all I have done really is to write a php script that converts https://www.miroguide.com/feeds/ into a proper boxee compliant xml. Note there are over 5500 feeds, but that boxee deals with it perfectly well (just give it 2 seconds to load the 400k xml).

To the boxee team, I have a bug to report as well as a feature request. The bug is related to the way boxee handles foreign characters and various encodings. Try for example rss://xml.tsr.ch/xml/index.xml?siteSect=674000&programId=43, while this is displayed correctly within Safari or Firefox, Boxee fails to display special characters correctly. This page is encoded in windows-1252, I'm not a huge fan of that standard, nevertheless, boxee should be able to handle it IMHO. In all cases, it is also true for other charactersets, for example japanese. Try http://www.menkoi-tv.co.jp/podcast/lafan/index.xml in boxee and then in Safari and notice the difference.

Finally, a feature request. As I mentioned, Boxee handles 5000+ line items perfectly fine in the context of my application. Sadly though, one must scroll all the way down to access say the Yoyo or Zebra line. Could you implement a mechanism in which, if somebody hits one/several keys on the keyboard (for example YO), the list automatically jumps to the first entry starting with YO?

Thanks and I hope you enjoy my port of miroguide.

Salut Simon

A+
Richard

Hi,
Thanks for the app. I enjoy TSR.CH from Philadelphia so I can have my local news. I noticed that there are some problems with that boxee app.
When I try to watch the 19:30 daily show, I get the list but no video is actually showing, not matter what I choose. Also today with "Couleur locale" it shows no result and does not even produce a list of the shows. I know the shows are there as if I go directly to the tsr site I can watch them.
Question
Is the app still maintained ?
Where do I look to figure out the problem.
It would be really cool to be able to get that fixed....
Thanks.
Denis
