Hi guys,

Played/viewed items are added to "recently used" even if they are not watched

1. Add a source and wait for it to be indexed
2. Make the source unavailable/unshare it
3. Play/View the item
4. The item will not be played because the source is no longer valid! but it will still be added to "recently used"?!

Sometime the items from the unshared source disappear from my library, and it should since it not available at the moment.

this is a semi feature/issue as boxee has indexed the content and does not know the source does not exist anymore and tries to play the media ,as soon as this action is implemented it adds it to the "recently used" ..the issue could be should the whole of the media or just a few seconds needs to be played before adding ..:)

I think boxee shoud do like last.fm submission work.
These are Last.fm rules.. what about doing something like this?

1 The track must be submitted once it has finished playing. Whether it has finished playing naturally or has been manually stopped by the user is irrelevant.

2 The track must have been played for a duration of at least 240 seconds or half the track's total length, whichever comes first. Skipping or pausing the track is irrelevant as long as the appropriate amount has been played.

3 The total playback time for the track must be more than 30 seconds. Do not submit tracks shorter than this.

What if you have very short videos, like cool commercials? Most of 'em will be shorter than 30 sec...

I think it would be better to use a percentage of the watched video to decide if it's been watched or not, very much like what Apple does with videos on the iPod (solid dot in front of the video title when unwatched, half empty dot when partially watched, no dot when fully watched).

Or let the user decide if the video has been watched (ie. added to the Recently used list) or not.
