I have the same problem. I use MacBook Air with Time-Machine where my files are located. Boxee can finde the network source, but as sushant tells, it dosn't scan and identify the videos.
It works with the pictures, but not videos.

Yep. I've been having similar problems. Attached are my logs.
It used to work, but no longer does. Newest version I think, SMB share, it doesn't scan the directory, shows as "Not connected" when I try to update it, and when I browse to it in Hulu (which I can), it won't play.
Plays fine over VLC. Gigabit copper connection.

First, quick background on my system and network which is all on local subnet 192.168.22.0 :
I'm running boxee on my mac. I have 2 NAS devices. One is an apple router with USB attached storage which is located at 192.168.22.1 My other NAS device is running freeNAS which is on 192.168.22.2 Both the apple router and my freeNAS devices have windows SMB service running and working normally. I use SMB to connect to and interact with both these devices and their drives all the time outside of Boxee without issue.
Also, on my 192.168.22.1 device I have 2 shares : FamilyBackup and Pluto. On my 192.168.22.2 device I have 2 shares : Bigdisk and music.
Enter Boxee. When I try and add a network source, It will authenticate with my user/pass however even though I enter smb://192.168.22.2 as the address I am trying to reach, when it displays the shares that I can choose from instead of showing my bigdisk and music it shows me the shares on my 192.168.22.1 box! I've tried deleting my source, recreating to no avail.
I had this problem with the previous version of boxee (9.11.5511 I think?) and I just this morning upgraded to the most recent version (9.11.5774). Both exhibit the same problem.
Any help would be appreciated. So far the only way I've been able to get this to work is to mount and connect to the network share before running boxee then adding it as local storage. This of course means every time I run Boxee I first have to ensure I've connected to my share which obviously long-term is not practical.

So no response from anyone at Boxee on this subject?
Really makes me sad. My logs are posted above. Boxee is pretty much useless if I can't play videos from my server. Back to VLC until a patch I guess

I was having the same problem and I solved this issue using this method (http://getsatisfaction.com/boxee/topics/how_can_i_tell_boxee_to_scan_a_folder_i_have_on_an other_computer_storage_device#reply_1119996) now I have all of the information of my files in the boxee Library.
I don't know yet if my solution apply to your set up, but it won't hurt to try it out.
