Ok, so I might be confused on how this all works:

Isn't the new iTunes content (music) non-DRMed, and thus playable in Boxee?

In my new Mac Mini setup (yeah! No more fooling around with Linux, which I don't know anything about, with bad equipment, I've recently purchased a couple of 'Plus' albums (Basically to see if its worth upgrading my entire library, if they are playable in Boxee). Boxee recognized them immediately, but Boxee hangs every time I try to play.

Have I got the concept wrong, or is there something else at work here?

BUMP. I am having the same issue with two new albums purchased. And they are definitely iTunes Plus.

boxee should not have a problem playing non drm itunes songs. where are the files stored locally or on the network?

Mine are locally.

Mine too are semi-local on an external USB Drive. It plays all other media fine. After crashing and burning twice trying to play an ITMS+ track, I tried playing a track that I ripped from CD and a dialog came up saying that it had encountered too many consecutive errors trying to play and then that failed to work also!
