Okay, so I just upgraded to Ubuntu 9.04. I was having some insane graphic driver problems in 8.10 (along with a bunch of other people, apparently), and so I just got fed up and updated to 9.04. Needless to say, everything is completely fixed! So yay!

BUT!

Now when I try to get on Boxee, it won't recognize my internet connection. When I first load it up, I choose my username, and it tells me the "internet connection is unavailable."

Now, I am running this on an amd64 (I used the install guide on these forums, and downloaded the intrepid deb). Everything else works on Boxee, except for when I load a song, it crashes and shuts down boxee. That doesn't worry me too much, because I like rhythmbox better for music. But I really want to stream hulu and other online channels.

Any solutions? My internet works just fine and dandy, or else I wouldn't be typing this!

we have not tested Jaunty yet and aware of login issues with 64 bit .. there will be a new version available in the next few weeks or so..Obviously you tried restarting the machine ..please try and remove the /.boxee folder and see if that helps..

Where would that folder be found? The only one I can find is under the Opt folder under file system, and that's my core installation.

Actually, I wonder if it has anything to do with my firewall. It didn't used to do this, but now my Limewire won't connect either, saying that it's because of my firewall. Is this maybe something new with Jaunty?

From another thread, the fix might be to install the "lib32nss-mdns" package. This fixed it up for me.

sudo aptitude install lib32nss-mdns

I am running Ubuntu 8.10 and when I run boxee and try to log in it I am geting message that there is no internet connection and my only option is to exit. I have also tried to get the lib32nss-mdns but the package is not found. It would appear that this package is no longer support and does anyone have an other suggestions.
