Error: boxee exited with status 4

How: I had added several Network shares for boxee to access

Shares contained: Audio (.mp3) and Video (.mpeg, .avi, .vob, .mkv, etc..)

1) Added Shares
2) Left ATV on and running (1 am - 9 am)
3) Error comes up
4) I reboot and can log back into boxee

does this error occur all the time or just once in awhile..if you using one share does this error happen..

If this is still happening please pm your debug logs...

After turning off Thumbnails I had not see this same Error again

I'm a newbie and have the same problem. I can't figure out where I turn off thumbnails. Where is the preference located?

huh... the option is mia.

well, you can manually change it in the settings xml file:

linux: ~/.boxee/UserData/guisettings.xml
mac: ~/Library/Applecation Support/BOXEE/UserData/guisettings.xml
atv: /Users/frontrow/Library/Applecation Support/BOXEE/UserData/guisettings.xml

find this line:

<autothumb>true</autothumb>

change it to:

<autothumb>flase</autothumb>

I noticed you also get this error if you have a wmv file that has some BS license it tries to download. I download The Proposal and just threw it into my boxee share folder and this error started coming up. I backtracked opening each file on the PC and that movie tried to download some license. Once i removed that file everything was great...

Turning off the auto-thumbs made ERROR 4 go away for me. But, still consistently getting ERROR 10 every time I use Boxee. I have moved to XBMC to watch anything on my SMB shares until another release is available. >.<
