Sometime last year, I was enjoying the hell out of Boxee. But I ran into a show stopper when VIDEO_TS folders residing on an external hard drive played as if it were in slow motion, and the audio was really choppy. (The video was retrieved using MacTheRipper, if that makes a difference.) I decided to wait until a future version to try again. But even with the latest release, it's still happening.
These files play fine in Front Row and DVD player, but for some reason, Boxee doesn't like them. I've tried switching the audio and video settings (deinterlacing method, scaling, etc). I've even tried watching the video at original size. Still choppy.
For audio, I have a Behringer USB audio input / output device. I thought this may have been the culprit, but the video's still slow with choppy audio. I also thought it may have been since the video was residing on an external hard drive (it's USB 2), but copying it to my built-in drive didn't make results any better.
I hope there's an easy fix for this that I've overlooked...
My machine is a MacBook Pro 2.16GHz Core 2 Duo with 3GB of RAM and a 300GB 7200RPM drive, running 10.5.6.
