I have ATV 2.2 with XBMC/Boxee Loader and latest builds of XBMC (Atlantis 2) and Boxee.
There is a grey menu bar at the top of the screen in both that I can't seem to get rid of. It's almost like it is running in windowed mode and needs double clicking to be full screen.
I've tried all manner of video settings but it doesn't seem related to resolution, it's always there.
Anyone have any suggestions? Is it a known issue? Thanks.

I am on ATV 2.1 and have the same problem, but I have only notied the menu bar in XBMC. In addition, the very top and ends of the menu bar are cut off due to overscan. I have no idea how to get rid of the menu bar or the overscan.

I had the same problem. I fixed it by swithing my resolution to 1280 x 900 i think. It said full screen mode. Even though my TV is in 1080i mode that resolution setting didnt work for me

Thanks for the responses, I'll try 1280 x 900. Other than that XBMC is working like a dream. As for Boxee, I might try re-updating it. Cheers.

I got it working on 1280 x 720 (fullscreen) and adjusting the overscan settings under Video Calibration, now fits perfectly, thanks a lot for the tips.
(on 1366×768 LCD)
ATV: 1080i HD
XBMC : 1280 x 720 (fullscreen)
and System>Settings>Appearance>Screen> Video calibration
