Hi,

For people using the Boxee, non- US and UK. Would appreciate a proxy setting for the individual source.

Idea:

For BBC iPlayer, a built-in proxy choice to fool the "UK IP check". Or atleast the option to set a specific proxy for the BBC iplayer.

For US features, that requires US IP's. We need to be able to set another specific proxy for this service. Rather than a overall proxy for the Boxee as a whole.

What do you guys think?

As I understand it, it is legal if you are a UK resident or out of the UK on holiday, to use a proxy servers, public or private, to access iplayer.
As for Hulu, I dont believe there is problem there too.
Don't take this as legal advice though.
However, Hulu has started to use other means to prevent people from using proxies. (iplayer may follow.. i dont know)

This is a great idea, though.
There are many people that who travel... and say, in the UK. You really miss your hulu.

If anyone knows how to set non-global boxee proxy settings, please respond.
By non-global, i mean for just one application. Particularly IPlayer.

P.S.
For those who do not know, when you use a public proxy your connection is not secure. Hence, if you are using a global proxy setting on boxee via settings feature... your veiwing habits are not secure.
