mouse issue

hey all.
i just downloaded boxee today and im having troubles already and i hope you can help me out.
well i started the app and i couldnt do anything because it didint recognize the mouse or something.
the mouse didint appear in the program but i could write and that.

hey shayvasa, welcome to boxee!

there is an option in the boxee settings to enable mouse support:
settings > appearance > look and feel > enable mouse

using the arrow keys and enter should allow you to at least log in, at which point you can enable mouse support.

i should warn you that not everything works 100%, using the mouse.
it's something that the boxee team knows about, and they are working on better support.

ok thanx but i still have the same problem....how can i log in if i cant use the mouse nor the tab key? i need to go from username to password but i cant because i cant use tab because when i press the tab key it tries to ge to full screen (tries because it wont get there).

use the arrow keys to go from username to password...

i cant. the username is up and the password is down so i need to press tab to go from one to the other but i cant use tab

i'm afraid i still don't follow... you should be able to use the down arrow key to access the password field.

unfortunately, as boxee does not use standard control-widgets, 'tab' would not function as you would expect, even if it wasn't already used for toggling fullscreen.

does the down arrow key not function as it should, and allows you to move between controls?

I was having the same problem, tab change to full screen, and down key doesn't work....

I already find the solution, run boxee in the terminal lihe this: LC_ALL="en.gb" /usr/boxee/run-boxee-desktop

sorry about all the problems, mates...

one thing you can do to enable mouse support without loggin in is edit guisettings.xml*:

change:


<lookandfeel>
<enablemouse>false</enablemouse>


to:


<lookandfeel>
<enablemouse>true</enablemouse>


i'm not sure if this will fully fix the issue you guys are dealing with, but it will offer mouse support on boxee load.... hope it helps...

ok thanx all for trying to help...the one that solved the problem was typing LC_ALL="en.gb" /usr/boxee/run-boxee-desktop in the terminal
