View Full Version : Status 11 Error and NAS

I too was getting a status 11 error when Boxee was caching my movies folder on my ReadyNAS via SMB (someone mentioned they were doing this via AFP, but I can't see how that happened since it seems Boxee only supports SMB...correct me if I am wrong but my AFP shares never showed up only SMB). I unplugged my ATV and disabled sharing on my movies folder so Boxee couldn't connect. I then restarted my ATV went into Boxee and disabled Thumbnail cacheing or something like that under settings, Video. I then re-enabled my share and I don't get the crash immediately when Boxee starts. I have gotten it again, but I believe this is a general crash and it usually is happening when I am exploring options or various areas. I expect this given it is also an Alpha.

By the way, I have no issues with screen resolution and what not. I have my ATV set to 1080p via HDMI on a Sony 52" Bravia. I am also using the digital out of the ATV to my receiver. I did adjust via video calibration the overscan and I have streamed DVD file movies directly to Boxee and it looked great! Now my process of getting my movies to ATV is much easier. I only have to rip the DVD! No more converting then importing into iTunes. I love that! Saves on disk space too.

Looking forward in seeing this product mature. Haven't played much with pictures and music (other than Last.FM) but looking forward to it.

Thanks Boxee Crew!

I just got the "Error:XBMC/Boxee existed with status: 11" as well.

I was watching "Finding Nemo" or trying. I can't navigate the menu with the current Boxee setup... anyway. Boxee crashed... restarted same crash happened after I logged in.

I too have a ReadyNAS... they are awesome. :)

I am sharing over AFP. You need to roll you AppleTV version 1.0, which you can if you search for it. You just need to find the AppleTV 1.0 restore file. Then you basically swap it out for your current restore file... roll your AppleTV back, then update it, install ATV, and then run app which basically unlocks the ability to mount to AFP. Long story short... Mount_AFP isn't included in any of the AppleTV from 1.1 and on.

There are some threads on the ATV about rolling back to AppleTV 1.0 and about enabling APF on you AppleTV.

hi guys

glad to hear you are enjoying boxee ..with the crashes please pm your logs :

to get them - you have to "ssh" to the machine.
the log is under "~/Library/Logs/boxee.log".
you'll need to "scp" the log to your machine and send it

Will do.

For me to roll back is easy...just do factory restore. I bought ATV at version 1 and that is what it would be at if I do a restore. Done already once. However, I don't want to lose my ability to rent movies. I really like version 1 but really enjoy Take 2.

Thanks.

Will do... I'll do it tonight... haven't bothered setting up Port Forwarding for my router for my AppleTV. :)

I used your fix and it seemed to work until I added the path to my Mp3 files. When they started to add I got the same crash. Unlike video I didn't see an option to stopping the Mp3 Artist image cache-ing.

It still downloads the thumbs, that feature is for when it can't find a thumb. I still have all the thumbs on my posters. No issues there.

If it was me....I would restore to factory and redo the patchstick install. If you already did that, then I don't know enough to help.

Just turn on your AppleTV. Turn off Wifi on your AppleTV, or unplug it from the network. This will give you a couple seconds if you are using a NAS device. If your data is local then I am not sure if you will have enough time.

But, after that rush to the Setup window and hit Play. Then you can turn off the Caching. This fixed Boxee for me.

I only get sporadic errors now after leaving in on over night.

I tried this with no success. I only get to the log on screen. Boxee tells me I am not connected and as soon as I log in it crashes with "status 10 error"

Getting me down coz I miss my Boxee

try removing or edit the guisetting.xml file

you can also try removing your profile rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/BOXEE/UserData/profiles/{boxee user name}..
