I'm looking for an easy to use remote that works well with Boxee. I'm currently using Boxee on Ubuntu 8.10 and it runs wonderfully! Well... Once I 'sudo killall pulseaudio' anyway. Besides that, I find using the wireless keyboard and mouse *which sucks!* clunky and not very fun when using Boxee.
Does anyone recommend a remote that works well, and hopefully allows me to move the mouse cursor around on the screen?

I run the new vista MCE remote and I love it.
I have reprogrammed the buttons so everything works as expected.
The Jump forward and jump backward buttons jump in 10 minute increments
The fast forward and rewind work in 2,4,8,16,32 times increments.
The windows media key jumps back to the main menu from anywhere
The power key turns off boxee
The TV button turns on boxee.
All the other buttons work, volume, mute, number buttons, just as they should out of the box.
I installed LIRC for ubuntu and then installed the configuration files for the newer style usb dongle the Vista MCE remote uses.
I installed IREXEC so the remote works from the command prompt in order to turn boxee on when it is off.
I modified the xml config files to add the extra features to the remote.
If you decide to go the route of the MCE remote, just drop me a line and I will be happy to share my xml configure files so you don't have to learn how to do all that.
I am also working with a couple of other linux distros to build boxee on that will boot from a compact flash card (or usb stick ) and run entirely out of ram. Make the system fast, responsive, and low power consumption. All my media files for my entire network are on a network storage drive so I do not need a hard disk in the player boxes.

I just ordered the Anywhare GV-IR01WT (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16880121004) remote. It would be wonderful if a few of you could check it out to give me your reviews. =)

I got the remote in the mail the other day, and after doing some tinkering, I was able to get it to work with my TV just fine, however nothing seems to happen in Ubuntu when I press any of the buttons. Could you post that XML file for me? =)

I use this gyro mouse (http://www.gyration.com/p-14-go-24ghz-optical-air-mouse.aspx) although I paid less than half for it on eBay (I'd say it's worth $40 or so, but $90 is pushing it). It works great in both Linux and Windows, although I haven't tried it with Boxee yet.
