View Full Version : Boxee freezing on exit

When I go to exit boxee I didn't choose the suspend and it froze the unit on that screen. I had to kill it from command line with:

kill `ps awwx | grep [B]oxee | awk '{print $1}'`

and then had to restart the finder with:

kill `ps awwx | grep [F]inder | awk '{print $1}'`

Are there any logs I can help share so this stuff can get fixed?

hi AaronX

welcome to boxee

yes. logs will be good.
to get them - you have to "ssh" to the machine.
the log is under "~/Library/Logs/boxee.log".
you'll need to "scp" the log to your machine and then pm .

cheers

When I select quit from Boxee, the AppleTV reboots (or just Finder, I dunno), and I get the 'Select Video Resolution' screen.

hi

what should happen is it returns to the appletv menu list ...where you can select boxee again..:)

please note that it can take a few seconds before the application exits and this seems to feel that boxee has frozen..

i let it sit there for over 30 minutes so i know it was in fact frozen. i will grab the logs and let you guys know.

Is your HDD full? My 40GB was full, and it wouldn't exit. Now I wiped it (I didn't want that duplicated content on the Apple TV box anyway, as I stream from a NAS) and now it's better at exiting.

Ive left it for hours... nothing happens. My solution is to unplug the power, to restart it.

I have a network drive and 2 external usb drives connected. My appletv is empty, about 30gb free space.

It freezes always on exit.

hi ctech

thanks for the report ,this seems to be an issue with a few users ,if you disable the connections to your external sources and the exit does it still freeze. I have opened a bug report for this..

disabling external SMB connections and then it no longer freezes on exit for me. In addition turning off the option to auto generate thumbs and it no longer freezes on exit for me.
