View Full Version : Movies Not Recognized or Indexed

Setup: 0.9.9.5324 on Mac mini (Nvidia)

Issue: Clicking "recognize" option for a movie yields no result. When I manually enter the movie title via on-screen keyboard, the "spinning daisy" (waiting) icon activates for a few seconds, then nothing (no suggested movie titles).

The above behavior applies for all movie titles, all of which were recognized by the prior version of Boxee (titles include "Pirates of the Carribean", "Monsters Incorporated", "The Machine that Changed the World", etc).

Appreciate any assistance here. Thanks

@Marcel,

I've sent my debug logs to your email. The issue has been present since I received the Mac Mini and installed Boxee (3/3).

Thanks,

@Marcel - Erasing library does not help; issue same as described above.

boxee_media.db sent to your email.

Thanks.

Issue solved.

Cause of Problem: Parental controls enabled.

Because my mini is used essentially as a set top box, I had locked-down most applications (though Boxee was enabled). Parental controls blocks the ability of Boxee to access the online movies data base.

Note: FYI - Parental controls will also block rTorrent from launching; thus the "unable to access downloads server" error that some people have reported.
