I have patched my AppleTV with Boxee and so far it's great. The remote / navigation is a little laggy.
Is there a way to prevent 4:3 content from stretching on my 16:9 display?

I have a 16:9 widescreen CRT screen attached via component.
Boxee doesn't display properly, the edges of the screen are chopped off. The only Video adjustments I can see in the menus are to vary the 720p settings which doesn't help, video is displayed in incorrect aspect ratios.
The ATV is set to 576i - 50Hz, the best my TV can handle. Is Boxee 720p only?

Go to Settings > Appearance > Screen > Video Calibration. You can adjust geometry there.

when watching a video you can go to Settings->Video and adjust the View Mode (will allow you to watch the 4:3 stuff)

Coogee, I have a PAL Widescreen TV too. 576i didn't work for me, I couldn't get 'enough' calibration to see the whole picture. If your TV can handle 60hz try 480i in the AppleTV settings, then recalibrate from boxee. Worked for me.
