AppleTV/Boxee lost information text strings

Hi everyone - I am a newbee here.

Just downloaded Boxee to my AppleTV and browsed around. Looking great.

After couple of restarts of Boxee some information texts that I had seen earlier didn't show up. For instance a popup window was blank (earlier it said 'No files found at source'), on the keyboard in the lower right corner there was a green button with text 'Done' if I remember correctly - now it was a green button without any text.

Another example is if I go down the menulist on the left (yes these items are visible).
- I select 'Settings' and I get a window with 9 boxes (all texts visible): 'Display and...', 'Music Playback and..', 'Slideshow settings' and so on until 'Credits'. If I select 'Credits' I can read all text but if I select a box with settings, for instance 'Look ad feel and regional settings' I can see a green box to the left, and three lines to the right where all explanation texts seem missing. In all three lines there are som values I can change but without a lead text I don't know what it is.

(The first line says '(3/3) Bursting bubbles'. The 2nd and 3rd lines have radiobuttons)

I have restarted the appleTV and downloaded Boxee to ATV again but the texts are still missing or invisible.

Hope this description makes sense.

thanks for the report I have opened a bug report regarding this issue ..just need a little more info ...
did you change any resolution on your screen?what resolution are you using?Did you change the language of boxee?Change any of the settings?

Hi Marcel,

I did set the Region to Central Europe and when I set the Language to Swedish the Region also changed to Swedish.

I am not sure about changing the resolution, but I may have as I had the wrong aspect ratio in a youtube video.

It is somewhat hard to remember all details.

/I also downloaded Boxee to my mac where I dont have the disappearing text problems - even there I have set Region and Language to Swedish and there I know I experimented with different resolutions./

After my bug report I have upgraded AppleTV to version 2.2 and once again reinstalled Patchstick and re-download Boxee - but still missing text strings. So it seems that something is kept in the settings that causes the problem.

I have now been able to reset Language to English and most of the missing/invisible texts appears again. (Region became automagically set to US).

I am missing the top 3(?) lines of Settings/Apperance/Screen - where I previously could set resolution and such. My top line reads "Video Calibration..." followed by "Test Patterns..." and "Vertical Blank Sync".

So an improvement anyway...

good to hear it is working in English :) but not in Swedish:(..the first 3 lines should not be there as they are irrelevant in appletv ...you can remove boxee completely and try again using language English and tell me if still some text is missing..

I have opened this still as a bug because you should still see text whatever language you choose (even if it is partially translated)
