Is there a way to put a link to a torrent in the Apple TV and for it to start downloading it, or does it have to be from rss?

I still haven't figured this out. Is there some thing to put before the link instead of http, like rss or tor?

you can add an RSS of torrrents by going to Settings->Media Sources->Manual Add Source and put in the url starting with rss://

Upload the torrent file to /mnt/Scratch/Users/frontrow/Library/Application Support/BOXEE/UserData/Torrents/

And it's rolling

I guess a good way to do this (if you are using a mac) would be to create an applescript or automator action that will scp .torrent files to the appletv so that it will automatically start it. I'll have to look into this.

hi
well -
you have a few ways to make use of it -
1. there is an rss feed of royalty-free torrents shipped with boxee (see "internet videos->video downloads" for example)
2. you can recommend torrents to friends (again - from the rss feed for example)
3. you can add other feeds - Settings->Media Sources->Manual Add Source and put in the url starting with rss://
4. boxee is alos constantly "watching" a folder called torrent under your "Downloads" folder (/mnt/Scratch/Users/frontrow/Library/Application Support/BOXEE/UserData/Torrents/) - whenever a torrent file is added to that folder boxee will automatically start to download it. you can "drop" files there and boxee will get them.

enjoy :)
