I just started using boxee, and I've been messing around with the Mac's display settings. Now boxee full view is too large for the Mac display (it's cut off on the left and right). I must have done something to screw it up because it fit before.

Don't know if it's related, but the resolution for the Mac display is set to 1680 x 1050. I've got the Mac connected to an HDTV and the HDTV arrangement is set to mirror displays if that should somehow be related. I hope someone can tell me how to get the full view of boxee to fill, but not exceed, the Mac's display.

Thanks!

I tried the clamshell approach (closing the lid on the Mac Book Pro-see link below). Then blindly using my remote to go to the settings, appearance, resolution, I changed the Boxee resolution to 720 (even though my TV is an LG 1080p). This fit the Boxee screen on my TV, but had a white border on top with "Boxee" in the text. Maybe overscan will fix this which I had turned off in my Display Preferences.

My solution: Works quite well, though people laugh when they see me do it. This is espec. geared towards you joeriggs since you also use a macbook.. It's the same idea- clamshell approach, except expanded upon. Close your macbook's lid almost all the way - don't shut it. The mac will go to sleep. Once it does, barely open the lid while sliding a finger or skinny object in to touch a key (I use the right control key) on the keyboard. The mac will wake up, but the laptop screen stays off, essentially being tricked into operating in clamshell mode even though you now have full access to the touchpad and keyboard. I borrowed this tip from either these forums or somewhere else, works great. Also, I have overscan in boxee but fix it easily by going to display calibration (in boxee) and making everything fit. Does this help at all? hope so
