I'm looking into developing a plugin for Mozilla's Songbird to sync content to Apple TV. http://getsongbird.com/
Songbird is the Firefox of media players... an open source and cross platform iTunes clone. Songbird can manage your media library and also provides a plugin architecture for extensions.
As I look into Songbird's plugin architecture and API, I'd like to get some thoughts from others.
1. Would you like an iTunes clone to sync content to your Apple TV running Boxee?
2. For the geeks, what protocol do you think makes the most sense to use? This would require the srvice to be running on the Apple TV. SSH/SCP, FTP, Webdav, AFP, CIFS/SMB, NFS? I'm thinking SSH since the patchstick creator installs this.
3. What path, on the Apple TV, should we use to copy content to? Is there a structure that Boxee would prefer?
