Apple Remote stopped working (still works in Frontrow)

Hi,
My Apple Remote stopped working in Boxee, but it still works fine in Frontrow.
I also tested it with Sofa Control and it still works.

Yersteday evening it was all working fine.
Has anyone ever encoutered something like this?

Im running Boxee on a MacBook Pro (early 2008) with 10.5.6

Update:
I unistalled Boxee with Appzapper - didnt help
Created a new User - didnt help

After that I tried Plex and it seems Plex works just fine?

you will need to ssh into Apple TV. from Linux and Mac OSX, use the ssh command line via the terminal.

1.ssh frontrow@{ip address}
2.To retrieve your IP (boxee>settings>general>IP or ATV>settings>general>about>IP
3.enter Password "frontrow"
4.rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/BOXEE/UserData/

if you check settings>system>apple remote >always running ..close boxee and then select menu from the remote which application opens (frontrow or boxee)

when setting "always running" boxee launches, but after launch i cant control it with the remote

This is very strange try removing boxee and downloading again :

/Application Support/Boxee.app
~/Library/Application Support/BOXEE/

this error is totally weird,
somewhere in the system something has changed.

is "~/Library/Application Support/BOXEE/" really the only folder where boxee stores something?

the one im talking about in the headline of the thread.

im thinking about reinstalling osx right now. maybe some app (like sofa control or remotedudy is still nested in somewhere)
also in another tread i read, that plex and boxee might colide, so i also unistalled plex (with appzapper so nothings left behind).

I am having the same exact issue on 10.6.2.

Apple remote works in boxee on my macbook (also 10.6.2) but not on my Mac mini, which is the one connected to my tv unfortunately.

I'll help with debugging if necessary. Any luck so far?

I have a brand new Mac Mini, and both the White Remote and a Logitech Harmony One. Neither of them work with boxee, but both work fine with Frontrow.

This is a clean install of Mac OS and the only other software on the mini is Chrome, Firefox, and iLife.

Mac OS 10.6.2
Boxee 0.9.20.10408

This definitely doesn't seem to be an edge case. Any workarounds to use the built in IR receiver?

From IOSPIRIT's Remote Control Diagnostics. It looks like there were some major changes in the underlying drivers for 10.6.2 that breaks Boxee's and a lot of other vendors underlying support. I haven't tried the latest Candelair, but if it works I'll report back here.

Applications using outdated Apple® Remote support code may not work properly
With OS X 10.6.2, the layout of the HID descriptor of the OS X Apple® IR Receiver driver has changed. This change requires all applications that depend on the specific layout(s) of previous OS releases to be updated by their developers. They'll otherwise not react to Apple® Remote button presses. Developers can avoid this and other problems entirely by using our free HIDRemote class that doesn't have any such dependencies. Users of affected software in most cases can work around the problem by installing Candelair and enabling its Legacy Compatibility Mode (at System Preferences > Candelair).

i have candelair on 10.6.2 and the remote is working make sure you activate this "Legacy Compatibility Mode"
