Potentially worrying news:

due to the Hulu situation we are postponing our next alpha release to March 24th. will do the launch as part of a boxee meetup in NYC.

Longer release cycle for alphas just can't be described as good in any way shape or form

agreed. but scrambling to get an alpha out on time in the midst of lost functionality and a minor media frenzy kinda sounds at least as bad at this point.

That's not far off, I will be interested to see if the "Hulu patch" still works with the updated software.

Hopefully there will be .iso support too!

Maybe it's being put off to add things to replace Hulu.

Maybe it's being put off to add things to replace Hulu.

This is what I see going on, its not the end of the world as other features of Boxee still keep many users as long time users, but I see them building their own or finding a way to replace the lost content.

It will be done :D

Well, here's hoping that the next release will make Boxee a better audio box! I've posted a couple of bugreports (with no answer) - music functionality is pretty unstable.

But still... Boxee rocks :-)

In my opinion the biggest audio related problem is that all audio is resampled to 48KHz. This eliminates any potential as a high-quality audio player.

I can see how that can be an issue for high-quality musicfans - but personally I'd just love to see Boxee add all my music and play it without crashing! :-)

+1 on increased audio/music support.
