Newbie here! Searched the forums but found no mention of this.
Does Boxee support video from ReplayTV sources? I know XBMC does.

Marcel, thanks for the response! From your reply, I am hopeful you haven't ruled it out entirely! ReplayTV's a key reason why I use XBMC and I would love to replace it entirely with Boxee :)

I would also like to know about ReplayTV support, since it is already built into XBMC. I realize that this subject is an older post. Have there been any changes on this front? I'm considering going *very* basic cable, and not getting their DVR service (which usually sucks anyway), and using a Replay box I have laying around in my garage. It would be nice to have the box networked in a closet somewhere with all my favorite shows programmed and access them through boxee on an AppleTV.
The basic point is being able to access recorded DVR content. If there is some other cost-effective way to do this, then I am open to consider the options.

Otherwise, with regard to ReplayTV integration, would it help if I said pretty please?

FYI
You can use DVARCHIVE and import your Replay TV shows onto your windows box (not sure about Apple and Linux) and then Boxee will recognize and play them from your computer.

Hope that helps.

Hi jminni, thanks for that. Yes, that's a solution that somewhat works but the ideal solution would be to connect and play direct from the ReplayTV box. I can do this from XBMC.

While this definitely provides a workaround, I can't see myself keeping up with that kind of maintenance. I've used DVArchive before and it's a great piece of software, but I'm just not looking to permanently record my shows. Usually, if something has enough appeal, it ends up being commercial free and downloadable anyway-so exctracting and editing these files ends up being more trouble than it's worth. Being able to access DVR content, using the Boxee interface to index and tag my shows is just inherently more appealing. It would make boxee complete for me! It would eliminate the need for me to buy/lease the cable company's DVR with a clunky GUI, and my need to actually access programming through one more device would be eliminated. (not to mention the other alternative: spend hours hunting down the shows over torrents).
That would definitely win me points with the wife, who thinks our multi-source HT setup is a pain to begin with, and that I spend too much time on the computer. :)

I would also love to have a ReplayTV plugin for boxee. It would be awesome to be able to browse and play any of the content stored on my ReplayTV from within boxee. I've looked at the rtv library in the xbmc source code, and it looks simple enough and is based on replaypc. From what I can tell searching the internet, however, nobody is actively maintaining this library anymore, and none of the xbmc developers have ReplayTVs to test with. I would imagine this is also true of the boxee developers. There probably aren't very many of us ReplayTV users left in the world. In my mythical spare time, I will be taking a look at writing a plugin for ReplayTV. I haven't looked at the boxee source code yet (is it available? Edit: yes, of course it is) but can I assume that if the rtv library is in xbmc, that it is also in boxee, or at least can easily be added?
