I saw someone running Boxee on an EeePC and wanted to try it on my Acer Aspire One.
Confirmed that the same fix makes it useable:
go to /home/~your-user~/.boxee/UserData/guisettings.xml
Find the value for vsync and change it to 0
It doesn't run amazingly, but it is certainly useable. It streams ok, menus are good, and even the visualizers work.
For those of you that are saying "How'd you get Ubuntu on the Aspire One" I just followed this tutorial https://help.ubuntu.com/community/AspireOne
...and you can have boxee anywhere :)
UPDATE: I streamed some videos from Revision 3 and it worked great :D no lag at all. So far it seems like the only really laggy screen is the home screen.

Acer Aspire One running Ubuntu 9.04

changed the Vsync to 0
Rebooted but it still crashes on startup, any ideas?
I have 1.5Gb ram and its the SSD version

I haven't tried the latest version, but the previous release worked fine under Intepid on my Acer One. This is on a SSD version which has 1.5GB of RAM too. I don't recall making the vsync change, however I did strip out PulseAudio.

An update or something on the same day had edited the xorg.conf which stopped Boxee and Totem movie player working, fortunately what ever it was backed up the xorg.conf first so I just reverted to the original one and Boxee works now, I should have tested it straight after installation! :)
