A big round of applause!!! :D
I just got my ATV today and wanted to give some feed back.
Been using boxee for a couple of weeks now on Ubuntu Hardy and Mac OS X. Boxee has just worked with a minimal of fuss. The only tweak I had to make was on Ubuntu for the vsync setting to solve a slow gui. Easy file edit, restart boxee and problem gone.
So...as a progression from my laptop I purchased a refurbed ATV. I could'nt afford a Mac Mini but also really like the set-top box aspect of an ATV.
The ATV arrived today, got home from work and loaded the patchstick to my Kingston thumbdrive and installed. The install all went with no surprises!!!
What I really am impressed about is I handed the apple remote to my wife, who has not used boxee, and with very little input she configured the network sources, (I have two boxes serving out media), set the weather configuration and calibrated the video to better fit our non-widescreen standard definition TV. After getting boxee all ready to go I then handed the remote to my 7 year old daughter and she very quickly figured out how to navigate using the Apple remote and once I explained what was local media vs. Internet media she was off searching YouTube and found Alf of all shows on Hulu.
I am very impressed and excited about boxee...bravo!!!
