I use my laptop and mac screen sharing to control the Mac Mini Media Center, i.e. mouse function etc. But with Boxee on, i can control the screen by viewing the tv, but the screen on the laptop just flickers.

Thanks

I noticed this as well using tightvnc to view the display from my windows laptop. Currently I just look at the TV while moving the mouse on the laptop.

But yes, the screen flickers. I noticed that if I "Request Screen Refresh", it stops for a short period.

hi guys

can you try Settings>Appearance>Screen select Displays Blanking (from "disable" to "Blank displays") and tell me if this does the trick.

That worked but Boxee can't be in full screen mode. Then the screen is just frozen. You have to hit tab so it is not in full screen view

sorry ..your saying when boxee is full screen it freezes and when you hit tab to window mode it is fine...

It freezes on my laptop, not on the TV screen. On the TV screen it is fine. But for testing, i am working without the TV on, checking things out etc. So when i hit tab and it goes out of full screen mode, i can't do anything, hit tab again and then the laptop view works again. It always works on the TV screen though.

Obviously not a major issue but just something to mention.

When I try to use UltraVNC in Windows to control my Ubuntu Boxee box, UltraVNC just displays a black screen when Boxee is in full-screen mode. When I press Tab to go to Windowed mode, then I can see Boxee fine in UltraVNC. None of the settings under Appearance > Screen make a difference in my case. I haven't tried other VNC clients. Not a big deal, but FYI.
