Movie rating system

What I would love to see a movie rating implementation that would allow users / friends to review and rate movies ? Somewhat like Netflix's facility. It should be optional and simple.

So you could be viewing your movie repository and it would show a "ratings" link that would "popup" in AJAX style and show you ratings and reviews.

In fact you could hook into the Netflix API and also probably IMDB to pull their user reviews.

There could also be a section for suggestions based on genres/preferences ?

Just a thought ?

well digit, thats a great thought.
you can start by rating items yourself (hit the "rate" button from any info screen). and pretty soon we will be showing user ratings and reviews. currently on movies you can already see the imdb rating in the form of the little "+" signs below the cover in the info screen.

i also think that adding Reviews makes perfect sense. whether it is RottenTomatoes, NY Times or others. i think Yahoo! is doing a very good job with handling reviews for movies

RottenTomatoes is my personal favourite, it might be a good idea to be able to choose the source of ratings.

Of course boxee should be able to have its own ratings, as boxee users love, hate and recommend movies. Even simply watching a movie (in full) should count as a small vote.

When might we see something like this?
