Has anyone successfully, from outside the US, been able to configure Boxee for viewing Hulu on their Mac using a ssh tunnel?
I have a server in the US that works fine in other scenarios. I create an SSH tunnel on the Mac to port 8080 and confirm that works fine when in Firefox (proxying to 127.0.0.1:8080). However, in Boxee, I just can't seem to get it working. I have tried setting the System proxy for SOCKS5 using the localhost:8080 settings, but it still shows the geo restrict in Boxee. Boxee's own proxy settings lock boxee up if they're set to localhost:8080, so that won't work for me.
Can anyone suggest a fix for this based on their successes? I can't find a logical reason why it's not working when set as the system proxy. Do I need to block port 80 somehow as well?
