Configure MCE Remote to launch custom scripts?

Is this possible to configure a MCE remote to launch custom scripts? I would love to have my pc shut down by pressing the power button on the remote.

I'll second this. My remote has a huge number of inactive buttons that I'd like to make shortcuts in Boxee.

Ok so i know i can edit the keymap ...

<reverse>Rewind</reverse>

<right>Right</right>....


but what i want a to execute a script... like

<power>/home/user/.shutdownpc.sh</power>

Is this possible?
