I like Boxee a lot because it plays my video files correctly and it has a fresh UI but once you get to use it you start to fall in love (oh dear) with the social aspect of the app. Linking Twitter/Facebook with Boxee is very handy to begin with. Recommendations is also a very nice feature. For the moment it is possible to share your views with your buddies. Wouldn't it be fun to have some kind of a top-rated list? This way everybody knows what's hot and what's not. Top rated all users and top rated buddies would be even nicer to have.
I also like the option see what buddies have been watching/listening to but it could benefit from displaying the type of content it was. Example: Jesus spotted on the ceiling. This was a video I could also watch while I couldn't see Iron Man. Now I know of course that Iron Man is a whole movie so it can't be on YouTube but it's not always that clear from the title. For the moment I have to select the file and see if I can play it or not. It would be nice to know that by the look of the icon instead of opening it first.
