Hiya,

I have looked through the forums so please excuse me if this is answered elsewhere.

I have an Lacie Ethernet Disk Mini which runs the HipServe UPNP media server, i have added a TV show directory as a share in Boxee on my mac but when i go to the TV Show section nothing shows.

If i browse and access the network share that way i can play back the files fine.

I have checked the file names against thetvdb.com and they are named correctly so that shouldn't be an issue.

Any suggestions on what i can try

Cheers
Sam

(oh yeah and i have tried switching it all off and on again ;))

While boxee has been running for 5 or so minutes press 'A' to enter the library scrobbling status mode. Go to the share that contains your shared drive. What are the counts for resolved/unresolved/etc ?

Depending on the size of the library, it takes awhile to scrobble all the files.

Hiya,

Have pressed A and looked at what its working through, on all other folders it shows a number of files and then the same total as resolved, for the network drive it shows 0 across the board.

I have the files named correctly as local files are being picked up and registered fine. Its more like Boxee just isnt seeing these networked ones at all. Like i say i can access them fine when i browse to them though through Boxee.

Cheers for the help so far.

How did you connect your network share? Through boxee? Or through OS X?
Also what is the file protocol?

I connect to the network share via Boxee, although it Auto Mounts in OSX as well.

Not sure what you mean by file protocol.

what i mean by file protocol is what protocol are you using to connect. SMB? AFP?

In the case where you automount in OSX (or mount via AppleK in finder and then the mount appears under /Volumes) and then setup a LOCAL share pointing to the automounted directory, are you still having problems(i.e. 'A' shows 0 across all file states?)

I don't trust mounting remote drives through the boxee interface. I found that mounting them manually through the parent operating system (by mounting to a directory in OSX/linux or a drive letter in windows) is much more reliable.

Ok so i have it detecting the files now, seems that if i browsed to the folder on the nas drive via its UPnP broadcast (not sure what the correct term for that is!) it wouldn't detect them.

Setting up the share via SMB allowed me to see the files correctly.

Thanks for all your help :)
