I was able to connect my boxee on an iPad to my computer and enjoy watching vidoes. After a few minutes of watching, my iPad lost its connection with BMM on my computer. However, I could use safari to connect to Boxee Media Manager and login.

1. Bonjour is working/started. I uninstalled and re-installed did not work.
2. Boxee media Manager is on Firewall allow list under home/work and public network.
3. Restarted machine and iPad did work but for a few minutes.

If I restart Boxee Media Manager, it will work for a few minutes and then stop working again.

I have windows 7 64-bit and connecting to ASUS RT-N16 router by a ASUS PCE-N13 PCI Express.

Any help will be appriciated.

Thank you,

Hi i have the same problem

Boxee on ipad looses connection and cannot find pc again befor i restart boxee media manager.
I also noted that if i instead deactivated my windows firewall that i could see the pc again but then again only for a short time and then it dissapeared.

i have also tried restarting the network card on my pc but that also dosent kick anything on.

I see this issue has been around for a while. I have been trying the iPad app with the Boxee Media Manager on 3 different host PCs on the same network at home: Windows 7, Windows 8 Preview, and OS X 10.7. I can get the iPad to connect to any of those, but only briefly. After a few minutes, the iPad can no longer contact the host PC app, until that app is restarted. Also, when I kill the BMM via Windows Task Manager, and wait a bit, it takes up to 3 tries of launching BMM again to get the BMM window to appear (it is also set to launch in the background automatically at startup).

I've tried the usual things: disabling anti-virus, firewall, rebooting devices in combinations, etc.

I can never get more than a few minutes of connection between the iPad and the PC, no matter what.

I am really disappointed in this video streaming solution.

I can watch like 5 min before it breaks and it breaks so bad I need to restart AppleTV, Boxee Media Manager and the app on the iPad. All together I must have watched like 20 min so of the film with 5-6 breaks. It even breaks the AirPlay so it doesn't work on any iOS that I have (yes it worked before Boxee came into the picture).

However I finally solved this:
I did this to solve my troubles

1. Uninstalled Boxee Media Manager from the computer
2. Uninstalled the app from my iPad
3. Registered an account here to post how bad it is.

Boxee sux!
