This is a Mac issue as it pertains to the Crystal Clear Interface program. This can also be conceived as a bug for some, and others it can be seen as a feature request. Bear with me as I couldn't really figure a good place to post this.

If you haven't seen it, The Crystal Clear Interface (http://www.musingsfrommars.org/2008/03/crystalclear-interface-update-version-19.html) Is a very awesome transparency program which "overlays" most of the cocoa applications to provide a transparent program which can be customized. Not all apps are this way which is good, but others can simply look stunning for those that are looking for such a thing.

After I installed the program and was playing with it, I noticed that Boxee hates it and will instantly crash upon load each time I load it with the Crystal Clear Interface program running/installed. A simple uninstall of the program and Boxee was back to normal.

So, a bug if you dare to see it as such, or a request if not too troublesome to make it ignore the system calls from Crystal Clear Interface.

I would love to be able to use both in tandem but of course Boxee wins out at this time and will continue to do so either way. :)

Hi,
I'm the developer of CrystalClear Interface and saw your note on the Boxee forum. Have you tried using CCI 2.0, released earlier in February 2009? If not, see if it works by using the new System Prefs pane to disable CCI for Boxee. Visit the CCI website (http://crystalclear.musingsfrommars.org/) to get the latest version.

If CCI 2.0 still doesn't work, I guarantee that version 2.1 works fine. I'm using it now, and it lets Boxee do its thing without affecting transparency, etc. The only thing that still shows up is the Crystal Menubar, but hopefully that doesn't spoil the Boxee experience for you.

Cheers

Hi Marsume -

I happened upon the version 2.x the other day and downloaded it. Didn't play around with it too much honestly as I have been quite busy. I honestly didn't try it too long with Boxee but it seeemed to be OK.
