I've read the posts about other implementations (such as using MC Menu Mender), but there's a problem with MCE staying minimized afterwards. Which is fine if you're OK just pressing the green button, but i hope this way works better.

Definitely let me know any feedback/issues. This has been tested on Vista x86 and Win7 (Win7 it places it in More Programs)
Hope it helps someone else besides me :-) Definitely let me know any feedback/issues!

Mike,
I've been an avid reader of missingremote.com for some time and I've always found the info there to be very valuable. I'm currently running Vista x64 and haven't been able to get your solution to add boxee to VMC to work. Is there a possible workaround for me to get this to work given that I'm running x64? Thanks

Thanks for the kind words Brian. We actually had a forum member post an x64-compatible version. I've posted the link on the story page: http://www.missingremote.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=3285&Itemid=1
Enjoy!

I had a chance to try this out over the weekend on Vista x64 Ultimate. It worked beautifully and I'm extremely pleased that this is working so well.
If someone has a way to get cartoonnetwork.com content added within boxee, PM me. Me and my 5 year old son would be very appreciative.

This is a great lightweight solution. It finally allows me to use VMC as my full-on media portal on my machine (and control everything using just the remote). This Boxee addin combined with the MyMovies addin with Powerdvd support allows me to easily go from HD-DVD/Blu-Ray -> VMC -> Boxee and back again. Thanks.

I just wondering if it is going to be possible for this software to work in a Windows Media Extender such as the Linksys 2200? I really like the Extender Concept but feel that MS has not really suppoorted this concept to its fullest possibilities. I integrated approach of access to Hulu, Netflix, etc would be wonderful.

Absolutely not unfortunately. Boxee for Windows is NOT a media center (MCML or HTML) plugin so there is no way the MCE extender can use it.
